Big Sisters is the same as the original Big Brothers "Mentoring Program". An adult female is "matched" with a girl for a fun, goal-oriented, friendship-based relationship. Volunteer commitments vary widely. We match based on the circumstance of a volunteer, the desires of both parties, locations and personalities. In general we are hoping for "regular, meaningful contact" between an adult and a child.

These children need the companionship, understanding and guidance your special friendship can provide for them. Your friendship can make a BIG DIFFERENCE in a young person's life.

Cross Gender Matching is where a woman is matched to a boy. We do this to address the needs of our waiting list and also because of numerous requests from female volunteers.
